Information for Prospective Students

 

Brief Description of Program

The program of study "Business Administration and Engineering" leads to a Bachelor's degree. The standard duration of studies is 6 semesters for Business Administration and Civil Engineering, Business Administration and Electrical Power Engineering and Business Administraiton and Materials and Process Engineering, and 7 semesters for Business Administration and Mechanical Engineering. Students can begin this program in the winter semester only.

Program requirements: students should have the ability to think in an abstract and analytical manner, to grasp complex structures, and to clearly formulate their thoughts. Good mathematical skills and an aptitude for formal analysis - particulaly mathematical - are vital if students are to successfully complete the program. Good English skills are also beneficial.

For the specializations Civil Engineering and Materials and Process Engineering, an internship of at least 4 weeks and for the specialization Mechanical Engineering, an internship of 6 weeks must be undertaken prior to commencing the program.

The program of study "Business Administration and Engineering" enables students to gain a meaningful combination of technical and business expertise, whereby the focus is on the planning, analysis, and optimization of business and technical processes. The program has a quantitative and methodological profile, integrating the business and engineering sciences, and equipping students with the requisite knowledge and skills for becoming tomorrow's top managers.At RWTH Aachen University, the Faculties of Engineering offer the following four engineering specializations:
