Anybody who is able to get to the AIXperiment laboratory (unfortunately, the building is not sufficiently accessible for persons with mobility impairments).

Primarily, the laboratory is intended for use by the chairs and institutes of the School of Business and Economics at RWTH Aachen University. Its focus is on experiments in economics and decision-making psychology. Students are also welcome to use the facilities, for example, within the framework of compiling their degree thesis.

In economic experiments, (economic) decision situations are simulated. The laboratory offers scientists the opportunity to observe the behavior of their testpersons under controlled conditions. This controlled-condition environment enables a precise analysis of the impacts of variations of individual factors.

Yes, you can! Participation in an experiment at AIXperiment can bring in as much extra money as a regular student job might. However, how much you can earn depends on your own strategic decision making and the decision making of the other participants in the experiment. And, of course, 'chance' often plays a role, too!

Not at all! In economic experiments, economic decision situations are simulated in computer-based games. Economic experiments are often great fun!

Experiments always take between 30 and 120 minutes. In very rare cases, they might take longer, but we will always tell you exactly how long an experiment is going to take before it actually starts.
