On 09.05.2023, the current ZEIT study guide with the new CHE university ranking was published. Once again, we have achieved excellent ratings with our Business Administration and Industrial Engineering Bachelor's degree programs in Civil Engineering, Electrical Power Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, and Materials and Process Engineering!

We are particularly pleased that we were able to achieve at least 4 out of 5 stars in the students' evaluations in almost all categories (general study situation, premises, equipment, career orientation offers, etc.).

Since November 20, 2023, the official evaluation results of the Master's degree programmes in Business and Economics are also published online. We are delighted that our Master's degree programmes in Business Administration and Industrial Engineering have once again received top ratings.

Our Business Administration programme in particular excelled in the categories of research criteria, research funding per researcher, as well as publications and PhDs per professor. In terms of the general study situation, we even belong to the top group this year with both degree programmes and the corresponding subject areas.

It offers a good source of information for prospective students in their search for the right place to study. Since 2014, Research.com has been conducting a university ranking that evaluates German universities for business and management on the basis of their scientific publications. The relevant data was collected up to December 6, 2021. The H-index, which takes into account authors' publications and citations, is determined and totaled for all researchers assigned to their university on their Google Scholar profile. For the ranking, more than 5972 profiles of business and management researchers from Google Scholar and Microsoft Academic Graph were examined in detail. Scholars from more than 507 institutions and affiliations were analyzed.

RWTH Aachen University was ranked a very good second in Germany. The following persons are listed among the top researchers at RWTH in the field of economics and management: Prof. Malte Brettel from the Chair of Business Administration for Engineers and Natural Scientists, and Prof. Frank Piller and Prof. Wim Naudé, both from the Technology and Innovation Management Group. The sum of their publications results in 416 publications and an H-index of 120 for RWTH Aachen University in the field of business and management. It should be noted that only scientists whose H-index is above 30 are actually included in the ranking.

Worldwide, RWTH Aachen University ranks at 149 among all universities in the field of business and management. Prof. Brettel and Prof. Piller achieved a place among the 15 best scientists in Germany. For a detailed overview of the ranking, please click here.

AACSB Reaccreditation

AACSB (Association to Advance Collegiate Schools of Business) is considered worldwide to be the most renowned international accreditation organization for business education. The School of Business and Economics at RWTH Aachen University was awarded reaccreditation by AACSB on January 29, 2021 and will retain this distinction for the next five years. This is the School's second reaccreditation since its initial accreditation in 2011.

In alignment with AACSB standards, the AACSB review team focussed particularly during their visit on the School's pursuit of innovation and the engagement of the School's staff in teaching and research.

The reaccreditation process involved, amongst other things, a 2-day visit to the School by an international team of AACSB reviewers, comprised of three Deans, in October 2020. Due to the Covid-19 pandemic, the visit was - for the first time - a virtual one. During their virtual visit, the team talked to our students and teaching staff. The School's programs of study, the quality of the School's teaching and research, and the School's facilities were scrutinized and assessed.

In order to retain AACSB accreditation, the School of Business and Economics is subject to a reaccreditation process every five years. In Germany, the School is one of currently only ten business schools to have met the demanding standards set by AACSB. Today, there are currently 882 university business schools holding AACSB accreditation in 57 different countries. AACSB reaccreditation further backs up the School's excellent national and international ranking positions.

This achievement represents the excellent standards of the School in both its teaching and research activities.
