Thomas Kittsteiner studied mathematics at the University of Hamburg and received a doctoral degree in economics from the University of Mannheim in 2002. Subsequently (from 2002-2005) he was Postdoctoral Prize Research Fellow at Nuffield College, University of Oxford and also visited the University of Bonn in 2003/04. In 2005, he joined the London School of Economics as lecturer in managerial economics and was promoted to senior lecturer in 2008. Since 2009, he has been a Professor of Economics, in particular Microeconomics, at RWTH Aachen University.
