Responsibilities and Functions of the Dean's Office
The Dean's Office has specific areas of responsibility, the major ones being: the compiling of strategic development plans for the School of Business and Economics, the implementaiton of academic course assessments, ensuring that a comprehensive range of courses and programs is available, and supervision of the teaching loads of teaching staff members. It also coordinates staffing functions within the School and allocates the funding available to the School consonant with the policy developed with the School Council.
The Dean's Office in the School of Business and Economics is composed of the Dean, the Vice-Dean, and the Dean of Studies. They are supported by a team of managers, adminstrative and other staff members, and student assistants.
