Kai Reimers wurde 1963 in Wiesbaden geboren. Er absolvierte sein wirtschaftswissenschaftliches Studium in Deutschland, promovierte in Volkswirtschaftslehre und Betriebswirtschaftslehre an der Universität Wuppertal und habilitierte sich an der Universität Bremen. Von September 1998 bis August 2003 war Kai Reimers mit Unterstützung des DAAD als Gastprofessor an der School of Economics and Management, Tsinghua University, Peking, tätig. Seit September 2003 ist er Professor für Wirtschaftsinformatik an der RWTH Aachen. Kai Reimers arbeitet an der Schnittstelle zwischen Wirtschaftsinformatik und Organisationstheorie.
