The School of Business and Economics together with the Faculties of Civil Engineering, Georesources and Materials Engineering (Process Metallurgy and Metal Recycling), and Electrical Engineering and Information Technology established an Examination Board that is responsible for organizing examinations and for carrying out the duties documented in the "Regulations for Examinations" ("Prüfungsordnung"). The Board is composed of:
- A Chairperson, a vice-chairperson, and three further members, who are elected from the group of professors in the corresponding areas of study;
- A member who stems from the group of academic staff;
- Three members who stem from the group of students.
The Board ensures that the contents of the Regulations for Examinations are adhered to and that all examinations are conducted in the appropriate manner. The Board is, in particular, responsible for decision making in cases of appeal against decisions made during the examination procedure.
Furthermore, at regular intervals and at least once a year, the Examination Board has to report to the faculties/schools on developments in examinations and study duration. The Board makes suggestions on any reforming of the Regulations for Examinations and curricula and discloses the distribution of grades and overall grades. As a rule, the chairperson or vice-chairperson may carry out all duties on behalf of the Board with the exception of decisions on appeals and reports to the faculties/schools.
The Examination Board convenes in closed sessions during the lecture period. All correspondence to the Board must be submitted in written form at least two weeks before the next session is sechuled. Correspondence can be submitted by postal mail or handed in personally during office hours to the Academic Advising Services or placed in the blue mailbox next to the office door (room 624, Templergraben 64).
