It can be quite daunting trying to manage your studies when you first start university. But there are plenty of facilities that provide help and support with academic and technical matters. Take a look at them!

The Dean's Office has specific areas of responsibility, the major ones being: the compiling of strategic development plans for the School of Business and Economics, the implementation of academic course assessments, ensuring that a comprehensive range of courses and programs is available, and supervision of the teaching loads of teaching staff members. It also coordinates staffing functions within the School and allocates the funding available to the School consonant with the policy developed with the School Council. |

Each Faculty or School of RWTH Aachen has its own student representative body ("Fachschaft"). It is comprised of students who represent the interests of their fellow students particularly in the Faculty/School Councils, in the Senate of RWTH Aachen University, and in other committees and organizations. It is also a point of contact for students to go to if they need information and advice on study issues or if they have any complaints to make. |

Academic Advising Services

The School's Academic Advising Services should be your first port of call for any problems or questions relating to your study program or examinations. |
| Ombudsperson for Students | Whenever necessary, the School's Ombudsperson for Students serves as an intermediary either between individual students or between students and teaching staff or examiners or the administration. |

Central Examination Office (ZPA)
|
In most cases, the Central Examination Office is responsible university-wide for exam administration. This includes student registration for/cancellation of exams, registration of students' grades, issuing of certificates and transcripts, and checking of student admission or non-admission to exams or final theses. |

Registrar's Office ("Studierendensekretariat")
|
The Registrar's Office ("Studierendensekretariat") is where you have to go to enroll, de-enroll, apply for leave of absence, de-register, etc. |

Immigration Office ("Ausländeramt")
|
The Immigration Office for the Aachen Region has a subsidiary office on the RWTH Aachen city campus. During opening hours, international students can seek advice, e.g. on visas. |

Students' Union Executive Committee (AStA)
|
AStA represent the interests of students university-wide. You can get assistance and information from them on issues such as student grants (BAföG), accommodation, financing your studies, child-care, studying with a disability, legal matters, and a lot more. |

Studentenwerk Aachen
|
The Studentenwerk Aachen is a service provider with the economic and organizational responsibility for student catering facilitites, student housing facilities, BAföG student grants, and child care for student families. |
| Family Services Center | The Family Services Center is an advisory and mediation facility that aims to enhance the balance between caring for your family and managing your studies. |
