Björn Paape wurde 1965 geboren. Nach seinem Studium der Betriebswirtschaftslehre an der Universität Paderborn und an der Universität zu Köln absolvierte er das Zusatzstudium "Europastudien" an der RWTH Aachen. Herr Paape hat das Erste und Zweite Staatsexamen für das Berufsschullehramt abgelegt. An der RWTH Aachen promovierte er sowohl in Pädagogik als auch in Philosophie. 2001 wurde Herr Paape Professor an der DHBW Lörrach und 2002 Professor an der RWTH Aachen. Er ist auch Gastprofessor an der Universität Maribor (Slowenien) und an der DHBW Lörrach. 2014 wurde er an der Universität Maribor mit der Ehrendoktorwürde ausgezeichnet.
