The School Mourns the Loss of Professor Sebastian

Professor Dr. Hans-Jürgen Sebastian, our dear colleague, died on Wednesday, November 7, 2018 in his new as well as old home town of Leipzig. Professor Sebastian came to the School of Business and Economics in 1992, later becoming head of the newly established Deutsche Post Chair, and he remained with the School until 2016. During that time, he also served as Dean of the School from 2002 to 2004. Professor Sebastian made a significant positive contribution to the development of the School. His successful career, his quiet and considerate manner, and his love of research and science all made him the person that he was. It was only in 2015 that Professor Sebastian and his wife left Aachen to live in Groitzsch (close to Leipzig), where they intended to enjoy retirement. Sadly, only a very short time was granted them in this regard. Professor Dr. Hans-Jürgen Sebastian leaves a wife, Ursula, and a daughter, Ina.

The funeral will be held on November 22, 2018 at 11.00 a.m. at the cemetery in Groitzsch (address of cemetery: Friedhofsweg, 04539 Groitzsch, Germany).
